From personal experience shapeshift is more expensive to use then manually buying from an exchange. If you’re a hodler the convenience is worth the fee, but if you’re buying a large amount and want the best value I would make an account on an exchange. Your rates are fixed on shapeshift so for larger amounts you will be less affected by price slippage that can occur on exchanges. I was about to reply with exactly the opposite statement.
